De Vinger – Den Haag and video

Last week I played at De Vinger in Den Haag and it was awesome. Thank you all for coming out to see the show, I really had an amazing time with you all.

DS-10 Dominator opened the evening with a blasting set on which I furiously danced my ass off. Thanks for filling in for Failotron Rutger.

That said, it was a shame Failotron and Kanagawa couldn’t come to play due to sickness. Hope Áron gets well soon.

Up next was me. Had a blast! Ground was shaking, beer was going doing like water and the mosh crowd was awesome. My setup was shaking from all the people knocking into the stage from time to time. You really partied hard Den Haag.
Also got the chance to play my new song for you all to hear. Loved the response I got and decided to upload the demo version to soundcloud. Check it out:

Then it was time for Men of Mega to show their goods. It was an awesome set and I loved the new track they played.

Thanks to everyone at De Vinger and everyone who came to check out the show. Here’s a video for you:

You can see me at the end from about 2.50. The music in this video is not mine though.

Looking back on EINDBAAS on Tour – De Bakkerij, Castricum

Before I say anything I just want to say one word: AWESOME!

Last saturday I did a show in Castricum which was the first in line of a lot of gigs to follow supporting EINDBAAS on Tour. That day was pretty exiting for me since I got a new car and it never took a long drive with it and on top of that it was my first real performance. Loaded up the car with my stuff and went my way to Castricum. Oh yeah!

When I arrived at De Bakkerij in Castricum, I was told I had to play last. Because of that I had to play kind of late, but it also made me kind of nervous. Still I was really stoked to play and really wanted to.

EINDBAAS DJs started getting people ready for the party and then a local guest artist came on stage. He warmed the crowd for the first act: Men of Mega. Their game-like bleeps and melodies really set a great atmosphere in the venue. It’s as if the mayhem of your favorite old games was loaded onto us. They really played their asses off, and the crowd danced their asses off. A good thing!

After that it was time for Kanagawa and Failotron. They began their set with a few Kanagawa songs which didn’t just contain chiptune sounds. An electric guitar, a bass guitar, a floor tom, voice and keys were added to fill in were the Gameboy began. The nice blend of all these sounds gave a good feeling and sounded very serene and post-rockish. Which I really like.
After Kanagawa was Failotron, and his gameboy beat really hit me. Áron really know what’s up. I like this kind of music. Beautiful compositions and smooth melodies. Great build-ups too.

Then it was time for me to do the work. Build up my set and started. Loved the crowd for being so intense, you guys rock! Also loved the fact that people were singing along with the songs, great great great. Oh, and people who came from parts far away from the venue: big up! You guys are the best coming over and have a party with us.

Really loved this evening and looking forward to the rest.

Next up: De Vinger in Den Haag on February the 4th at 9.00pm.

Hope to see you there,
Gaya
